Arlington Home Ownership Made Easier (AHOME) works to promote and expand homeownership opportunities for low, moderate-income, minorities and families who want to purchase their first home in the close-in suburbs of Arlington, Alexandria and Falls Church.

Description:
AHOME is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1989. AHOME seeks to increase the number of low- and moderate-income and minority households that purchase homes in our community. We provide home buyer education classes, condo classes, financial literacy classes and some housing counseling.

Governed by a Board of Directors that works with three part-time staff, AHOME helps to bridge the increasing gap between the dream of homeownership and its reality for low- and moderate- income people.

AHOME’s "Achieve Your Dream" program provides monthly home buyer education workshops in English and Spanish to first-time home buyers. For individuals who want to buy a home but need more time to get ready, AHOME offers a home buyer’s club. AHOME provides individual counseling for people who may need special attention or have a specific issue that needs to be addressed.

History:
AHOME was formed in 1989 by long-time Arlington residents to fill a void in the County’s housing services to low- and moderate- income and minority people.
