The Mimi Geerges Show is an independently produced talk radio program. This weekly one-hour interview series features the country's leading experts, authors, scientists and entertainers. Our program presents a diversity of views on a wide array of topics. We strive to provide listeners with the information and insight to form their own views and opinions.

Description:
Radio forces the participants to speak with more clarity and detail, because they cannot rely on pictures to explain themselves—they have to paint a picture with their words. The listener also has to pay more attention to the spoken word. I don’t like watching talking heads on TV, but I do want the information. I can get this information while driving or cooking or doing something else.

History:
Focal Point was created by Oakton resident Mimi Geerges in 2002. As a laid-off telecommunications worker, Mimi turned to her true love of radio broadcasting. But she insisted on creating a show that would allow the listener to form his/her own informed opinion. Focal Point's guests and listeners have been complimentary of the show. Here is what Mario Cuomo said after being interviewed: "I've done many hundreds of interviews in my public career. None were more intelligently, comprehensively, or pleasantly conducted than the one by Mimi Geerges ." The program airs nationally and in Canada on Sirius - XM Satellite Radio as well as public stations around the country, and has been on the air since October 2002.
