Seeking Brain Fitness Coaches Weekday Opportunities
Last updated on August 27, 2008

The Office of Senior Adult Programs offers and exciting, conmputer-based "brain fitness" program. Each program runs for 40 hours, spread over 8 - 10 weeks, and we will be repeating this cycle continuously. Brain fitness helps adults maintain their memory and mental acuity.

Volunteers will guide participants through computer-based exercises in auditory perception and memory, they will provide encouragement to participants and facilitate group discussion. Volunteers will monitor group and individual progress and communicate with Senior Center staff. Some administrative tasks are required.

The brain fitness program is held at Langston Brown Community Center and at Walter Reed Community Center. At Walter Reed the sessions will run in the morning and at Langston in morning and early afternoon.

Volunteers should be comfortable working with seniors, have basic computer skills, and possess problem solving skills. There will be a 1/2 day training. Commitment to at least one full session is preferred.
