Adopt An Area - Gulf Branch Community Volunteer Network Opportunities County Government Opportunities Group Opportunities Family Friendly

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on March 2, 2009

Become a trained volunteer who 'adopts' part of Gulf Branch's natural area. You will be responsible for periodically visiting your area, and keeping it free of invasive plants and litter. Areas vary in size and in the level of effort against invasive plants required - some require only very light management, others may be completely overwhelmed by vines. Pick your challenge!

Your reward? Seeing the steady recovery and return of healthy trees, wildflowers, and wildlife. And of course, free s'mores at our semi-annual campfires.

Volunteers will receive training in invasive plant identification and removal when they begin the program. They should be able to work in their chosen area at least 2 times a year, and commit to the program for at least two years, to really see the difference they're making. Volunteers must be able to work independently, and engage in some physical labor outdoors.

This opportunity is sponsored by: Gulf Branch Nature Center
