Help to make Arlington a safe place to live, work, and play... by becoming an emergency volunteer!
Emergency volunteers represent the diverse, inclusive, and vibrant communities in Arlington. By developing and supporting emergency volunteers, the community is provided with the necessary resources to support county initiatives before, during and after a disaster. Whether you have administrative skills, medical skills or no specialized skills there is a way for you to be involved
Volunteers help coordinate recovery efforts, share information between government and relief agencies, mobilize resources, and rehabilitate devastated communities. Their rapid deployment, skills, and prior experience gained through exercise, training, and/or response provide relief to community members impacted by disaster.
Arlington County Citizen Corps is the umbrella organization for these programs seeking volunteers: Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), Pet Corps (Animal Welfare League), Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (RACES), and Volunteer Emergency Support Team (VEST).
