
Volunteers are needed to help prepare tax returns for seniors and low-income families and to make sure they receive any tax credits or refunds for which they are eligible. The federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), for example, can result in substantial tax refunds for working families. EITC is the largest federal antipoverty program for working families and individuals in the Free tax clinics will be held at many locations in Northern Virginia and the Volunteers play a crucial role in providing free tax preparation services. You don't need to be an accountant to help -- free training will be provided. If you are interested in volunteering, please see a list of tax preparation volunteer opportunities.
