Attorneys can volunteer by providing consultations to clients, instructing clerical staff on document preparation, review of case files, research, writing boiler-plate pleadings, public relations, and staff trainings. New attorneys and those facing a change in their legal practice state their volunteer experience is particularly helpful.
Non-attorneys can volunteer by providing reception, translation and clerical help. This includes interviewing clients to gather information needed to prepare legal documents and, with in-house training, preparation of legal pleadings. This experience is extremely helpful to LAW STUDENTS and PRE-LAW or ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE STUDENTS.
Business Administration Volunteers can provide help with Human Resources, Business Management and Grant Management tasks.
Attorney volunteers must hold a current California license to practice law.
We provide training to all volunteers.
