Working closely with case managers, mentors are matched one on one or in teams (two or more individuals working together with one returning offender) with female women ex-offenders. Mentors work with offenders to achieve success in the community by focusing on one or more of the following areas: · Employment - Assisting with resume writing, application completion, practicing interview skills, discussing job ethics, communicating with co-workers and employers; · Leisure and Recreational -Exploring and participating in positive and healthy community activities; · Family Relationships- Discussing healthy communication, boundary setting and value systems; · Social Interactions - Practicing and modeling techniques for successful interactions with peers, employers and authority figures. · Relationship building with weekly contacts which are either face to face or via phone conversations. · Mentor should commit to at least a three month commitment, providing guidance and support in the community.
