The American Lung Association of Maryland was established in 1919 as the Maryland Tuberculosis Association. Although the focus of the Association has changed since a cure for TB was found, we remain constant in working toward our mission – to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Lung disease, including asthma, emphysema and lung cancer, is the third leading cause of death in America and affects more than 700,000 Marylanders. Description:
