The Light of Truth Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe and supportive housing for women recovering from addictions. Our women experience recovery, transition and restoration. While maintaining an environment conductive to the recovery process, women become empowered, enlightened, educated and healed.

Description:
The Light of Truth Center, Inc. (LTC) is dedicated to providing safe housing with support services that promote and support the recovery process. LTC provides case management, facilitated workgroups and peer to peer counseling. A womens stay is from 6 months to 2 years depending on her specific needs.

LTC is located in the Penn North area of Baltimore city. LTC provides a nuturing environment in which women can heal and grow. It is our intention to assist a women from our door to her own door. LTC is dedicated to healing the whole women. Recovery is just the tip of the icebreg without support services women are doomed to repeat old patterns.

LTC will house, educate and support a women until she is able to support herself. Here at LTC we say we will love them until they learn to love themselves. We believe we ar building live from the inside out.

Women who reside at LTC are require to attend an aftercare treatment support program. Depending on the specfic need of a women they will atttend GED training, job training or both. Once a women has increase her skill set we begin to look for employment and then permanent housing. We work hard to return women to the community as viable, product citzens.

History:
LTC was incorporated in 1999, the house opened in 2000. We have severd over sixty women and continue to serve the baltimore area. LTC's founder is an advocate for recovery and womens issues. Resently, LTC was selected by the Weinberg foundation to complete its fellows program. Several of our women have been interviewed by radio talk host Ginny Robertson resulting in two magazine articles following their progress.
