Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Calling all citizen watchdogs! We are looking for a few good stewards to participate in our new Adopt-a-Stream program. Workshop participants will learn about the Herring Run watershed, the challenges it faces, and how we can help City and County agencies protect and improve our local streams.

Topics will include how to properly identify problems such as sewer breaks and illicit discharges, who to contact to report such problems, and how to plan and promote community events such as stream clean-ups and tree plantings. Drinks, snacks, and plenty of lively conversation will be provided.

Workshops are held every every other month beginning in March from 6:00 to 7:30 in the evening. Workshop space is limited to 20 volunteers. To register, contact Ashley Traut at 410-254-1577 or atraut@herringrun.org.
