Visitor Center Tourism Ambassador Volunteers
Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on July 8, 2009 |
Volunteers promote BACVA members (attractions, events, accommodations, restaurants, tours, etc) and the city of Baltimore to leisure travelers, conventioneers, and groups as well as area residents. By engaging the visitor to determine interests, the volunteers provide unbiased recommendations that meet those interests.
The volunteers promote the sale of tickets and work with paid staff to complete the sale. Volunteers are the front-line ambassadors and often the first person that a visitor or conventioneer meets when coming to Baltimore. Volunteers’ actions have a direct economic impact on the Baltimore area.
• This position is open to all individuals who wish to assist in promoting Baltimore as a tourist destination. Volunteers who speak foreign languages would also be helpful.
• Volunteers are asked commit to at least 1 year of service and work 1 four-hour shift per week in the visitor center. Shifts begin at 8:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
