Adult Literacy Tutor

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on September 29, 2009

Tutors work one-on-one with adults with very low reading abilities. The curriculum is set by each tutor pair, depending on the needs of the learner. The opportunity for one-on-one attention boosts self-confidence for many learners who have had negative experiences in the classroom environment.

Tutors must complete 12 hours of training before being paired with a learner. The commitment is a minimum of 2-4 hours per week for one year.
