The Title IX Advocacy Project, a youth-empowerment and educational/legal advocacy organization, works with young people and their adult allies to promote gender equity in middle and high schools in Greater Boston. Our programs provide a co-ed approach to education and empowerment, promote the development of leadership and organizing skills, build self-esteem, and help ensure that girls and young women are not deprived of the educational opportunities necessary to fulfill their personal and professional dreams and aspirations. The Project facilitates workshops, conducts peer-leadership training programs, provides education and assistance to young people and their families, develops age-appropriate and culturally sensitive sexual harrassment policies for schools, and develops resource materials for young people and adults.

History:
The Title IX Advocacy Project was founded in 1994 and currently focuses on eliminating sexual harassment in school, discrimination against pregnant and parenting students, and gender inequity in school-based athletic programs. The Project has formed alliances with community centers, youth organizations, schools, and women's associations, providing information, programming, and resources to more than 2000 young people and 600 adults. The Project has received funding from private foundations, corporations, and generous contributions from our members and individual donors.
