Natick Human Services And Council On Aging
The mission of the Natick Council on Aging is to provide and promote advocacy and support systems foucsed on issues of aging, working toward the ultimate goals of independence, improved quality of lie and preparation for life changes.
Description:
Natick Human Services and Council on Aging has over 200 dedicated volunteers who serve a variety of functions. Volunteers serve as instructors in many programs including exercise classes, computer instruction, peer support groups, Yoga, Feldenkreis, Spanish Classes, and many more. Volunteer opportunities also exist in the community such as friendly visitors, medical transportation, grocery shopping, minor chores, meals on wheels and a variety of other services in our community. The focus of our volunteer opportunities is to develop programs and services for elders and individuals of all ages with disabilities to fill gaps in service provision.
History:
The programs and services provided by Natick Human Services and the Council on Aging strive to: support frail elders in their homes, provide information and assistance to families making life change decisions concerning elder family members, provide some support services for individuals of all ages with disabilities. The Natick Council on Aging is also a resource for preventive health programming, advocacy, education, social and leisure opportunities for active adults. Fostering a sense of community and involvement through shared experiences guides the Council's advocacy. The Natick Council on Aging is a Faith in Action affiliated agency.
