Our mission is to stabilize and revitalize the Codman Square neighborhood of Dorchester. We do this through initiatives that include: Housing Development, Economic Development and Community Building.

Description:
We have developed over 500 units of affordable housing. We also provide homeownership opportunities for low/moderate income people. We assist small businesses with business planning and access to capital. We work with residents to organize/take leadership around block-level concerns they have ranging from vacant lot development to youth services to trash/street cleanliness.

History:
We started in 1981 as a result of a grass roots, resident-led organizing effort to address and stop blight in the neighborhood. Arson for profit was rampant in our neighborhood at that time. The residents responded by developing the Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corp to rehabilitate abandoned buildings in the community and revitalize the economic infrastructure within the community.
