Best Buddies is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. Founded in 1989 by Anthony K. Shriver, Best Buddies has grown from one chapter on one college campus to a vibrant, international organization impacting more than 250,000 participants each year in the following six programs: e-Buddies, Middle Schools, High Schools, Colleges, Citizens, and Jobs.

Description:
NO special skills required. Just be nice! 18 and over, and MUST pass a background check to ensure safety of participants.
The Citizens Program matches people with and without intellectual disabilities into one-to-one friendships. A six-month commitment is required, including one phone call per week and two visits or outings per month.
