Mattapan CDC is a nonprofit community-based corporation dedicated to improving the social and economic conditions of all people who reside or work in Mattapan and the 02126 zip code area.
We place particular attention on improving the housing and economic circumstances of Mattapan's residents of limited means, and on ensuring that Mattapan has a voice in the development activities that take place in Mattapan

Description:
MCDC has set the following goals:
Ensure that Mattapan has a voice in new development activities and is engaged in planning for the future of Mattapan.
Build, preserve and operate quality, healthy and affordable rental and homeownership housing with a priority on serving the housing needs of Mattapan's low and moderate-income residents.
Develop handicapped accessible living and office space in Mattapan.

Work to resolve environmental justice issues in Mattapan
The CDC's current pipeline of development projects include:
A partnership with another CDC which will preserve 99 affordable rental units.

Mattapan CDC worked in conjunction with the City of Boston to build eight units of affordable housing on five formerly vacant lots in the Wellington Hill section of Mattapan. Three of the homes are two-family homes, whereas the purchaser has to agree to rent the opther unit at an affordable price and two are single-family homes. The were marketed to 1st time homebuyers. Approximately 400 people qualified for the City of Boston sponsored lottery.

The Mattapan Community Development Corporation (MCDC), incorporated in 1996, is Mattapan's community development agency.
Mattapan CDC is dedicated to conducting community development activity that will benefit Mattapan and the 02126 zip code area.
