The MATCH Charter Public High School prepares Boston students to succeed in college and beyond, including and especially those students who have not been led to expect a university education. The college graduation rate among inner-city students nationally is below 10%. Our mission is to reverse that underachievement.

Description:
Serving 220 students in 9th through 12th grades in Boston, the MATCH School reverses underachievement through a combination of innovation, relentless personal academic attention, and an old-fashioned "no shortcuts" ethic. Our ambition is to ensure that our students graduate from high school not only prepared to enter college but to succeed in college. To do this we hold our students to high academic and behavioral standards while providing the support to ensure that our students succeed. Every student receives two hours of one-on-one or one-on-two tutoring daily through our MATCH Corps Tutoring Program, and all juniors and seniors take AP courses and college courses at nearby Boston University.

History:
The MATCH School had its incubation at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, where founder Michael Goldstein designed it as his master's thesis. The MATCH School opened in September of 2000, and our first class of seniors graduated in 2004. Thus far, every student from the Classes of 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 were accepted into four-year colleges or universities, including such schools as Boston College, Brown University, Dartmouth College, Duke University, Georgetown University, and Spelman College. MATCH has also ranked as one of the top 10 high schools in Massachusetts out of over 300 for the percentage of students scoring in the proficient or advanced category of the graduation-required math MCAS exam for two consecutive years.
