Mentors Wanted!
Interested in becoming a Career Mentor? Do you want to make a difference in someone's life? Can you spare an hour of your time each week? If yes, then please contact us to learn more! JVS(Jewish Vocational Service)is looking for Career Mentors to work with clients in their Center for Careers & Lifelong Learning. You will work one-to-one with a client, providing support and guidance on job-related and career issues. JVS's clients include: refugees, new immigrants, low-income individuals and individuals with disabilities. Many of these clients are new to working in the professional world, having recently completed one of JVS' skills training programs. Career Mentor's listen to their concerns, give advice and act as role models - all with the focus on helping these clients succeed in the workplace and meet their career and educational goals. The Career Mentor program is part of JVS's commitment to provide long-term support to its clients.

Orientation and on-going support to Mentors is provided by JVS Mentoring staff.

Skills Required: Adults with some work experience, as well as maturity, patience, genuine desire to help individuals manage their careers and career path.
Someone who has a professional work history.
