Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on October 7, 2009

A major part of 826 Boston's programming is after-school drop-in tutoring. Volunteers come to the center from 2:45 to 6:00, Monday - Thursday, to assist students ages 6-18 with their homework. While homework varies from multiplication to reading Roald Dahl, volunteers provide students with the one-on-one focus and attention that is sometimes lost in the classroom, as well as a desire and enthusiasm for writing, and learning. Other opportunities include helping with in-schools projects, field trips, and leading workshops.

Volunteers are required to fill out a volunteer application, as well as attend a volunteer orientation, where they will receive the information necessary to begin tutoring. Please see our website www.826boston.org for the dates of upcoming volunteer orientations.
