You Can Make a Difference In Your Community! Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Massachusetts is seeking caring individuals who are 18 and over to volunteer with our patients at home and in local nursing facilities. Even one hour a week can make a tremendous difference. Direct patient care volunteers offer friendly visiting, emotional support, caregiver relief, and advocacy. Following training, volunteer assignments are close to home or work. Seasons will provide both training and support to our volunteers. Contact us today for our next training in September.
The role of the Volunteer is limited only by energy, talent and time! Volunteer selection begins with an application and interview where potential volunteers may express their personal goals, availability, interests and talents. Volunteers are carefully screened through a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and personal references. Volunteers set their own levels of commitment based on their available time and the needs of our patients. Direct Care Volunteers help by providing comfort, support, care and compassion to our patients and their family members. Indirect Care Volunteers help by providing administrative assistance on special projects that enhance the work of our staff and support patients, families and the efforts of the teams in the field. We provide a comprehensive 20 hour training for all new volunteers.
