Refugee Employment Services at JVS is seeking volunteers

Employment Services Volunteer
Assist newly arrived refugees with finding gainful employment. The Employment Volunteer will conduct job searches tailored to client’s needs to expand JVS network of employers. He or she will help refugees with job-related English language training, mock interviews, job application completion, resume development, job search techniques, basic computer training, and financial literacy. The Employment Volunteer will also accompany clients on job interviews and teach them how to use public transportation and locate other necessary resources.

Vocational English Class Volunteer:
Our clients have a range of English ability and work experience. We have an array of teaching tools, including computers, for you to utilize on a one to one, small or large group basis. Teach interview, telephone, customer service skills. Help students open email addresses, search and apply for jobs on-line and build confidence in the work place.

Times: Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5pm
(additional hours can be arranged)

The Refugee Services Department at JVS works with refugees and asylees from all over the world. We are seeking volunteers to assist with employment services, vocational English and administrative support.
