Pet Therapy Volunteer

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on August 22, 2009

Pets provide much joy for elders especially for those that live in a nursing home. The happiness that a dog or cat brings is amazing to see. We are looking for pets that are certified as therapy pets to come and visit our frail elders living in our skilled nursing setting. If your pet is not certified, extremely calm has never had any behavior issues in the past and you think he or she could be a good fit, please inquire. For some, this is an opportunity to share your beloved pet with a few other pet lovers who do not get a chance to see animals on a regular basis.

We must have all documentation stating that the pet is up to date on annual physical and all shots. Pets that are certified as pet therapy pets, must provide documentation stating such.
