The Lead Gift Shop Volunteer overseas the operation of the WGBH Headquarters retail shop, located in the lobby of WGBH's studios at One Guest Street in Boston's Brighton neighborhood. Requirements • Schedule volunteers to staff the Gift Shop • Train new volunteers to help out in Shop • Run register and checkout merchandise • Inventory product and stock necessary products • Maintain display area; create new displays • Greet customers and answer questions • Price products • Open and close shop • Process memberships Time Commitment • Minimum of one year volunteer commitment • Commit to two - three days per week; will need to be available for special events on evenings and weekends

Qualifications • Previous experience with customer service required • Experience managing retail operation helpful • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills • Familiarity with computers and cash/credit handling and procedures. • Must be able lift up to 20 pounds • Must have ability to stand for periods of time and to use a small stepladder. • May be asked to participate in CORI screening • Must be at least 18 years of age; college experience preferred.

Take Mass. Pike to Exit 20, following signs to Brighton. Follow exit
ramp to cross over Turnpike onto Cambridge St. Continue past Sports

St.) turn right. At next light, turn right onto Guest St. Parking garage

From the West

Allston//Brighton. Cross over Turnpike onto Cambridge St. Continue
past Sports Depot to major intersection (Union Sq.). Bear right
through light onto N. Beacon St. Go through three sets of lights; at
fourth light (Market St.) turn right. At next light, turn right onto Guest
St.
From Route 93, Route 1, Storrow Drive
Follow Storrow Drive west to Mass. Pike/ Central Square exit. Turn left
off exit ramp onto Cambridge St. Continue past Sports Depot to major
intersection (Union Sq.). Bear right through light onto N. Beacon St.
Go through three sets of lights; at fourth light (Market St.) turn right.
At next light, turn right onto Guest St.
Via Public Transportation
Two MBTA bus lines stop adjacent to WGBH Brighton. Number 64 runs
from Oak Square to University Park or Kendal/MIT via Central Square.
Number 86 runs from Sullivan Square to Cleveland Circle via Harvard
Square, providing access to the Red and Green MBTA lines.

Parking
Free parking is available for visitors in a specially designated lot next
to our One Guest Street entrance. Entry to the visitors lot will be on
your right, coming up Guest Street from Market Street, just past One
Guest Street.
A small number of visitor spaces also are available in the parking
garage further up Guest Street, on your right. Please take a ticket on
entering the garage and proceed to the third floor, parking only in the
specially marked visitor spaces along the south wall. When you enter
our lobby at One Guest Street, please take your ticket to the security
guard for validation.
Please do not attempt to park under the 10 Guest Street entrance.
