"The angels were here today." That was what the tiny white-haired woman said last year as the raking volunteers were putting the final touches on cleaning up her yard. ...The Natick Council on Aging is taking requests from elderly members of our community who are unable to do their own raking, but are trying to remain independent in their own homes. The fall raking will take place over the course of two weekends this fall. This should provide many opportunities for those who would like to participate to find a time that is convenient. Volunteers will be assigned in teams to a yard on the day/days that they are able to help. Anyone, any age can volunteer--Individuals, families, school, youth, civic, religious or scout groups. No power tools will be used. Nevertheless any volunteer under the age of 18 will require written parental/guardian consent.
