Supervisor: Center Director

Purpose of Position: To help children in our preschool and after school programs to build self-esteem and achievement.

Specific Duties: To include any of the following: Reading, story telling, singing, painting, loving attention, sharing a special skill, talent, or hobby, or assisting staff with administrative asks or material preparation.

Qualifications: Enjoy children, like to play, have patience, interested in skill building.
Useful but not required: Experience working with children and/or training/education in child development.
Need to be able to get to center on your own.
Clear a CORI check (Criminal Offense Records Inquiry).Must be 15 years old and or a High School Junior.

Benefits & Training: Orientation to SSDCS and the center where you will volunteer.
Regular supervision.
Training and experience working with children. Learning about child development and how to work with at risk children.
Opportunity to participate in SSDCS child development trainings.

Hours: Minimum: 1 hour/week

Commitment: Minimum: 3 months with a 1 month trial period.

Locations: South Shore communities of Abington,Randolph, Quincy and Weymouth.
