Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Combine exercise with doing good deeds! Escort wheelchair-bound residents to recreational activities in the hobby shop, concerts in the auditorium, and religious services in the synagogue, and to clinical appointments throughout the facility. Meet other volunteers and interesting residents.

On-site training will be provided for proper wheelchair transportation techniques and safety.

Directions:

 From Downtown Boston, take Storrow Drive West to Kenmore Sq. exit. Follow the signs for Park Dr. and Riverway to Rt. 1 South (Jamaica Way). Go through the medical area and pass the Jamaica Pond on your right. At the rotary, follow signs for Rt. 1 south (Dedham). HRCA is on the left approximately 1/4 mile after the Faulkner Hospital. From North and South: Take Rt. 95 to Rt. 109 East. At intersection with Rt. 1, turn left onto Rt. 1 North (VFW Parkway). Follow VFW Parkway through one rotary. At traffic light, you will be facing the Center. Turn left onto Centre Street and a quick right into the parking lot. From the West: Take Rt.9 East until you pass the Atrium Mall on your right. Take the next exit (down the ramp) and bear right onto Hammond Pond Parkway. Go straight through Horace James rotary. Continue in the right lane on Hammond Pond Parkway. At Putterham Circle, go straight through to West Roxbury Parkway (Temple Emeth will be on your right.) At the next circle, go 3/4 around to Rt. 1 North and enter HRCA from Walter Street (first right after the Center.)
