Read to Children - "Reach Out & Read" Recommended agencies

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on March 13, 2009

As a volunteer for "Reach Out and Read" you will be reading to children in one of our busy waiting rooms. Whether it is waiting to be seen in Pediatrics or a visit to our WIC program, you will be easing the wait time. Reading to kids is also a great way to model for parents that books are a great way to communicate! The goal is to EXPOSE kids to books in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Your service will be greatly appreciated by patients, parents and staff!

Volunteers must be 16 years old. Volunteers must be able to read and effectively communicate with children and parents. Bilingual is a plus, but not necessary.

This is a great way to gain exposure to a clinical setting!

I was able to be exposed to a range of departments and the populations that they served!
