Citizen Schools 5th Birthday

RSS XML FeedBackground Active Jan 1, 2000 to Jan 28, 2000

Citizen Schools is throwing itself a fantastic 5th birthday party, and we need your help! The celeberation is on Friday, February 11, 2000, 7:30 to midnight, at our amazing new headquarters upstairs from the Children's Museum at 300 Congress Street, Boston (5th floor).

This Citizen Celebration promises to be the most entertaining, delicious, danceable Citizen Schools party ever -- and we're expecting more than 500 friends and supporters to come help us unveil our new headquarters and celebrate our first five years of EDUCATING KIDS and STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY -- while we dance our collective shoes off! Here's just some of the excitement you can expect:

INSPIRING STUDENT PROJECTS AND PERFORMANCES ON DISPLAY
To celebrate the success of our unique apprenticeship model in helping kids unlock their own potential, we'll have lots of their work on display. AMAZING PEOPLE
Nobody has more fun, more energy, or more style than the incredible diversity of people at a Citizen Celebration. As with every aspect of Citizen Schools, our parties are all about bringing together people from all backgrounds and all of Bostons neighborhoods.

UNFORGETTABLE MUSIC: The irresistible energy of two incredible bands:
BAMBULE, the Latin dance-party geniuses who made last year's party sizzle. Boston's hottest live dance band!
The distinctive afro-funk of WESLEY WIRTH and BALTA TOUNKARA, the headline act at the Middle East on Sunday nights. Dance to their dazzling World Music now before they're snatched up by the record execs!
