Edwards Middle School Students need Math/Science Help Volunteers Needed Immediately To get involved, contact Jennifer Leary at Boston Partners in Education. Send email to jleary@jsi.com or call (617) 451-6145 x632 If you have a knowledge of and enthusiasm for math and/or science, then here's your chance to make a real difference. Students in grades 6-8 who are having trouble with their math and/or science classes come to a study hall from 1:30-3:00pm on Mondays through Thursdays. As a volunteer you will work with a small group of kids. You can come once a week or more to help motivate and excite these kids about their science education. You may also stay past 3:00pm to lead the kids in games of chess or scrabble, play some basketball, or bring your own fun ideas. Field trips and special events may also be a part of this program. This effort is funded as a part of the Annenberg Challenge Grant -- an effort to support school reform. | Logistics Days: Monday-Thursday Times: 1:30-3:00 or 1:30-5:00 Duration: now through the end of the school year Training: TBA Location: The Edwards Middle School is located in Charlestown, just off the orange line at the Bunker Hill Community College stop. |
