 | Boston Center for Adult Education 10th Annual Volunteer Fair | |
On Wednesday, September 29, The Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) will be holding it's 10th Annual Volunteer Fair from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Castle at Park Plaza, corner of Arlington Street and Columbus Avenue in Boston.

historyIn 1990, BCAE conceived of the idea of bringing organizations who need volunteers together with individuals looking for opportunities to serve. Over the past nine years, the fair has become the most important occasion in our region for people to find ways to serve their community. What is the connection between the Volunteer Fair and adult education? Each year BCAE brings together thousands of self-motivated learners to interact with our instructors--artists, educators, group facilitators, distinguished guests, and community leaders. We offer more than three thousand courses, workshops, lectures and arts events. Our programs are dedicated to enriching our community and realizing human potential by promoting creative development, political awareness, social interaction, and intellectual growth and by teaching people the skills they need to thrive in today's world. The goals of the Volunteer Fair -- building community, enriching individuals, and promoting learning -- perfectly match our institutional aims. At the 1998 Volunteer Fair, nearly 1000 people gathered information about volunteering at 120 local organizations. This year, the BCAE is expecting more than 1500 people looking for information from nearly 140 exhibitors.
