Board Members Needed!

WHO:
The Friends of Hawthorne is a volunteer-run non-profit, supporting organization for the Hogan Regional Center in Danvers, Massachusetts. Its primary funding occurs through donations, gifts and fundraising.

WHAT:
The Friends are seeking new Board members to hold titled positions. Board member duties include: attending scheduled meetings, completing assigned tasks of projects, fundraising, answering correspondence from the general membership, from groups inquiring about making donations. or requests for funding. This volunteer opportunity provides the unique chance to significantly impact the life quality of a large number of adults with Mental Retardation in a minimal committment of hours.

REQUIREMENTS:
Board volunteers must have an interest in supporting people with Mental Retardation, be over 18 years of age and not an employee of The Hogan Regional Center. A 2 year committment is required, during which the Board member must attend a minimum of 6 1 to 2 hour meetings per year for voting, project development and funding decisions. Prior experience in fundraising projects, networking, accounting, and non-profit activities preferred but not required.
