All of the programs have in common service to vulnerable populations, they respect the youth they work with and work to build on the teens’ positive assets.

- Westhaven Youth Shelter: crisis shelter and mental health services for runaway/homeless/thrownaway teens (ages 12-17) and teens referred by the county’s Department of Children and Family Services.
- Youth Re-entry Program: transitional living for older teens aging out of the foster care system or returning to the community from juvenile institutions. Mental health services are provided along with life skills training, education and job-seeking assistance.
- Youth Employment Program: Life skills training, pre-employment training, training for certification as a state-test nursing assistant, job placement and retention assistance. Target population is older out-of-school youths up to the age of 22.
- The Covenant Project is a life skills/tutoring program located in Maple Heights. The program is open Tuesday and Thursday evenings with extended hours during the summer
History:
For 40 years, Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry has worked to empower people to meet cultural, physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs. LMM was formed by the Association of Lutheran Pastors of Greater Cleveland as a response to the urban unrest of the 1960’s. Following Micah’s call to “do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God,” LMM provides a Christian ministry of service and advocacy to those who are forgotten and hurting. In 2007, LMM’s nearly 300 staff and hundreds of volunteers reached over 15,000 individuals. LMM serves and advocates for ex-offenders, youth-at-risk, people with disabilities and older adults.
