Art with a Heart's mission is to enhance the lives of people in need through visual art.
Description:
Art with a Heart, Inc. (AWAH) brings art classes to disadvantaged and underserved communities throughout Baltimore. With art as it's vehicle, AWAH cultivates and encourages positive changes in behavior among area school children, adolescents and adults in shelters, group homes, community centers, senior facilities and hospitals. AWAH currently has 30 community partners and runs 1200 art classes a year.
History:
Art with a Heart, Inc. was founded 8 years ago by Randi Alper Pupkin. Randi, a non practicing lawyer, had hoped her career choice would allow her to help those in need. When she realized that her work in construction litigation was not meeting that need, she remembered her love of art. That love evolved into the establishment of Art with a Heart.
