Help another BYU student with his or her class! As a tutor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Meet with your tutee for 1-3 hours each week. You choose a time that works for you; then a tutee will sign up for your availability. You must meet in a public place on the BYU campus.
  • Be completely committed to your tutee for the full term or semester. Be dependable and considerate, including being on time when meeting with your tutee.

Feel free to stop by 2330 WSC for more information.

All students are welcome to volunteer!

To be a tutor, you must have received a B or better in the class you want to tutor, or have college credit through a high school Advanced Placement program, or otherwise have expertise in the field of study (such as if you tutor for a language that is your native language).

To begin tutoring, please attend a 30- to 45-minute New Tutor Orientation Workshop. Workshops will all be held in 2010 WSC unless otherwise noted. Workshop times will be as follows for Fall 2009:

September:
Tuesday the 8th, 3:00 pm
Tuesday the 15th, 4:00 pm
Thursday the 24th, 3:30 pm

October:
Wednesday the 14th, 10:00 am
Monday the 26th, 1:00 pm

November:
Friday the 6th, 11:00 am
Wednesday the 11th, 9:00 am

December:
Tuesday the 1st, 12:00 noon

You do not need to sign up anywhere to attend a workshop. Please feel welcome to attend!

If you are not able to attend a workshop in the near future, please stop by 2330 WSC to fill out a New Tutor Application and receive a little instruction so that you can begin tutoring!
