We help women realize their potential, support each other, achieve economic self-sufficiency, and develop emotional and physical well-being, regardless of income level.
Description:
Qualified counselors offer support groups and individual counseling for job seekers, caregivers, women who are ending relationships, and survivors of sexual assault, incest, and domestic violence. We also offer workshops on a variety of topics including cars, listening skill building, landlord / tenant relations, parenting, financial awareness, stress management, credit repair, assertiveness, body image, making money work, the law, and more. Services are on a sliding scale. We are a nonprofit, community-based agencies supported through fundraisers, donations, and grants.
History:
Founded in April 2003 by Zena Biocca, Cindie Alwood, and Manuela Kress, we incorporated, achieved nonprofit status, and opened our doors for business in two buildings on Michigan Avenue. Staffed primarily by interns and volunteers, we use person-centered planning to achieve our mission. We are proud to have several community leaders on our Board of Directors including Leslie Charles and Macie Shriner.

From downtown Lansing, take the bus that goes to Meridian Mall and get off just past Kentucky Fried Chicken. There is free parking behind both buildings.
