The South Lansing Ministries Inc. is an outreach ministry project designed to meet the holistic needs of its surrounding community and beyond through providing programs to help people enhance their quality of life and become proud productive citizens of the world.

Description:
Currently South Lansing Ministries Inc. has 7 focus areas. They are a food bank where we provide food for families and individuals in need. Secondly, we have a clothing closet to provide those in need with clothes. Third, we are a site for signing people up for the Ingham Health Plan. Fourth, we are a Food Movers site where once again we provide people in need with food. Fifth, we have a personal needs closet where we provide those in need with toiletries, detergent, etc. Sixth, we offer a tutoring and summer cultural enrichment programing for children and youth. Seventh, through our computer lab we offer training to all ages interested. We also serve as an information and referral agency.

History:
South Lansing Ministries Inc., a not for profit 501 (c) (3), started in the year 2003. After the completion of a community assessment project, it was determined by the founder that there is a great need for a human services organization to be established on the southwest side of Lansing. We started off with a youth leadership academy. Then we added the Food Movers program. Over that four year period up to now we have added the other five focus areas.
