Based upon the Catholic principle that every human life has value, the mission of St. Vincent Catholic Charities is to promote and enhance the quality and dignity of life by providing professional, compassionate services to individuals and families in need of emotional, physical and spiritual support.
Description:
Annually St. Vincent Catholic Charities (STVCC) helps thousands of local children, adults and families of all beliefs transition to safety and begin to thrive. Today, STVCC"s mission impacts the community through its services including a children's home, adoption, foster care, family preservation, refugee resettlement, housing assistance for homeless families and adults, counseling, immigration law and much more. Volunteers play an important role in providing help and support to those we serve. In 2007, 535 individuals supported our mission by giving of their time and talent to those we serve.
History:
Catholic Social Services (our original name) opened in 1948. St. Vincent Home For Children opened in 1952.The two agencies merged in 1985.The agency has always served the poor and vulnerable. The agency strives to provide expert services in a compassionate manner, true to our mission statement and core values. The agency strives to work together with the individuals we serve to enhance their capacity to better care for themselves, their families and their neighbor. The agency's core values are: Compassion, Service, Faith, Stewardship, and Integrity.
