Peckham exists to create opportunities and foster success for persons with barriers to employment. At Peckham, we are committed to empowering individuals to maximize their full potential. In pursuit of our mission, we collaborate with a number community agencies to provide a continuum of services designed to meet each person's needs and interests. Peckham provides individualized vocational assessment, job training and job placement for persons with disabilities and other barriers to employment. In addition, Peckham continuously cultivates quality of life enrichment opportunities to offer a holistic approach in each person's journey toward greater independence and self sufficiency.
History:
Peckham, Inc. was established in 1976 through a grant from Michigan Rehabilitation Services, Ralf A. Peckham, whose efforts focused on the vocational aspects of people's lives. Today, Peckham offers more than thirty programs to assist people with disabilities and other significant barriers to employment. These programs are supported by five affirmative businesses which provide training and employment opportunities.
