Our Mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one relationships.
Description:
Big Brothers Big Sisters creates successful mentoring relationships for all children, ages 5 to 17, to reach their potential by matching them with a Big Brother or a Big Sister. Ultimately, we seek to develop and strengthen the developmental assets children need to become successful adults.
History:
Founded in 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest and largest youth mentoring organization in the United States. National research has shown that the positive relationships between Big Brothers and Big Sisters and their Littles have a direct, measurable, and lasting impact on children’s lives. Locally, we support approximately 900 matches and have been serving children in the Lansing region for over 52 years.
