Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on October 26, 2009 |
Girl Scouts is the preeminent organization for girls in the world. You may already know that Girl Scouting affords girls opportunities to grow and experience things that are beyond school and family experiences in a safe, all-girl environment. But did you know that Girl Scouting can provide many of the same types of learning experiences for adults? You will gain or refine leadership skills, learn the value of community service and gain many more intangible benefits. If you decide that you don't want to be a Troop Leader, there are other options for you to volunteer your time. We have many opportunities outside traditional troops for committed adults to serve Girl Scouts. We have opportunities to work with girls that are ongoing, short-term or one-time only positions. Our wish for you is that while you help girls develop these positive assets, you will also experience the marvelous benefit of personal growth that comes from giving the gift of Girl Scouting to others.
Steps To Becoming A Troop Leader or Volunteer;
- Decide what age level you want to work with.
- Attend the required trainings.
- Have a meeting with the parents of the girls and get acquainted.
- Find a meeting place , preferably a public building.
- HAVE FUN!!
