Walk and Bike Lansing! Community Presentations

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on January 26, 2009

We are looking for volunteers to help give community presentations about the Walk and Bike Lansing! initiative. The goal of the initiative is to engage and mobilize Lansing residents, businesses, and others to make Lansing a walk and bike friendly city. Volunteers will be given background information about the history of the Lansing Walking and Bicycling Task Force and our Walk and Bike Lansing! initiative, and will be trained on how to conduct the community presentations. They will then be given a toolkit that includes maps, documents, booklets and notepads necessary for the presentation. Volunteers will be guided on how to seek out and contact organizations to see if they are interested in signing up for a presentation, and suggestions from volunteers on potential organizations are always welcome!
This is a great way to gain volunteer experience with a nonprofit organization, engage with the community, and advocate to make Lansing a walk and bike friendly city.

Public speaking skills are helpful, but not required.
