Baby Blankets

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on April 8, 2009

Volunteers in the Sparrow Auxiliary create flannel baby blankets for newborns. Members do everything from cutting flannel, pressing blankets, basting and sewing. Sewing is NOT required to be part of this group. The best part is knowing that you have had a hand in providing a new infant with something soft and warm to be wrapped in as they enter the world.

As a member of the team, volunteers have certain responsibilities: Attending an interview with Volunteer Services Department, having a criminal background check completed, obtaining a TB Test before starting and annually thereafter (provided at no charge by Sparrow), attending a volunteer orientation, completing on the job training, and be willing to commit 58 hours annually. Apply on-line at www.sparrow.org/volunteerservices
