Additional Holiday Volunteer Opportunities
RSS XML FeedBackground Active Dec 10, 2007 to Dec 26, 2007

The holiday season is a time when many people think about giving back to their communities.  Here are some additional holiday related volunteer opportunities:

Volunteers of America (VOA):

**Volunteers are needed to deliver holiday dinners to senior citizens and individuals with disabilities who will be alone or homebound this Christmas.  On December 25, hundreds of volunteers will come to VOA to pick up maps, dinners, homemade cookies and other donated good to deliver throughout our communities.  Two shifts are available for drivers to come to the VOA, pick-up the materials and deliver:  11:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.

**Homemade holidays cookies are needed to be delivered with the meals on Christmas Day.  VOA asks that you package the cookies in quantities of twelve and bring them to the VOA Community Kitchen located at 430 North Larch in Lansing.  The cookies may be delivered to the Kitchen anytime between now and Friday, December 22, 2007.

**Volunteers are needed to work in the VOA Community Kitchen.  This community kitchen is located at 430 North Larch in Lansing and serves 80,000 meals a year to the hungry and homeless.  The holidays are a very busy time of year and the kitchen can always use extra help.  Meals are served seven days a week including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
