RSS XML FeedBackground Active Dec 17, 2008 to Feb 28, 2009

Sponsored by Capital Area Community Services (CACS), the 19th Annual Walk for Warmth is a volunteer opportunity to walk for one hour to raise funds for families who are experiencing hardship and are unable to pay their heat-related utility bills.

By signing up, you are volunteering to walk in the cold weather to experience the temperatues that families in hardship are dealing with inside their homes.  By your participation, you will help to raise awareness of the problem, as well as donations for families that need utility assistance.

The Walk is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2009. It will start at 9 a.m. at the CACS building located at 101 E. Willow, Lansing, Michigan. The course is along a three-mile residential route. Participants have the option to walk the entire or part of the course.

All funds raised from the Walk for Warmth through CACS will go directly to clients. Call Dean Poggiali at Capital Area United Way to sign up to walk or to ask for a pledge form to sponsor a walker. Dean can be contacted at (517)203-5027.
