Shelter Help: Help us better serve our women and children!

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

BWR shelter serves several women and their families a year. We are looking for community members who want to help support our residents and contribute to their empowerment.

BWR is seeking energetic, creative, and outgoing individuals to:

*Help with childcare during the day for women to be able to
attend group meetings,etc.

*Answer hotline and assist in screenings/referrals.

*General shelter maintenance & up-keep (room
painting, deep cleanings, yard clean-up, etc.

*Help residents become independent through specific, creative
groups on topics such as meal planning, financial budgeting,
activities for children, etc.

Volunteers must attend a mandatory Domestic Violence Training,(free of charge) An 8 hour core training is required for any short-term opportunities i.e yard work, etc. The next training is scheduled for January 27-30 and February 2, 2009, 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m.

*Confidentiality on the location of the shelter and residents is a must!

We need volunteers who are free at these times
Evenings  One-Time
