Assisting the office manager by answering phone calls, greeting and assisting visitors who drop in, performing clerical duties such as filing, preparing bulk mailings, or simple computer work if the volunteer had some computer operation knowledge. This volunteer opportunity is most beneficial to the daily operations of the agency. A person in this position allows the office manager to address other more complex administrative work which is critical to the success of the organization. This is a very flexible position and you may tailor your time here to your own schedule. The office is open Mon-Thurs. 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and on Fridays 8:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Volunteers may give 2 or 3 hours one or more days weekly, depending on your availability.
Important qualities for this position include enjoyment of dealing with people, good phone skills, ability to follow directions and flexibility in work done.  This opportunity is sponsored by: House of Peace & Education, Inc.

* Drive down Parker St. (Rte 101) towards Templeton/Winchendon.
* At the Shell gas station, bear to the left, continuing on Rte 101. (Rte 68 is on the right side of the Shell).
* Go past the GFA Credit Union, Domino's Pizza and Lil' Peach, all on the right.
* Take the SECOND LEFT after the Lil' Peach store; there is a street sign for Barthel Ave. and a "CHAIRTOWN LUMBER" sign.
* HOPE is the FOURTH HOUSE ON LEFT, A BEIGE THREE-DECKER WITH BROWN TRIM, #20.
* Parking is in the rear or on the street; Doorbell is on the front porch, you will see a small "HOPE" sign next to it.

* Take EXIT 22, the second Gardner exit,
* BEAR to RIGHT, going under bridge towards RTE 68N.
* ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, BEAR TO THE LEFT, FOLLOWING RTE 68N onto MAIN ST. towards DOWNTOWN GARDNER.
* AT THE SET OF LIGTS (LUK OIL on Left)TAKE A LEFT onto WIllow ST.
* GO STRAIGHT ACROSS FIRST INTERSECTION (Brazell's Liquors on right). This is now BAKER ST.
* Follow Baker St., going through blinking yellow light.
* You will drive up a hill, at the crest, Leamy St. crosses Baker St. (street sign on left)
* TAKE NEXT RIGHT AFTER LEAMY ONTO BARTHEL AVE (approx. 0.6 miles from LUK Oil).
* HOPE is on the RIGHT, approx. .33 mile down street.
