Wanted: Knitting or crocheting addicts or beginners

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on November 19, 2009

Do you knit or crochet but have run out of family to give your creations to? Would you like to knit with free yarn for a great cause? Warmer Winters volunteers provide warm Winter garments to people in need in North Central Mass. The need is greater than ever and we want to help as many people as possible. A man in a homeless shelter picked up one of our hats and exclaimed, " It's brand new. I haven't had something new in a long time". Hearing things like that tells our volunteers they are making a real difference.
Whether you can only knit a scarf or can knit sweaters and mittens, we welcome you. Warmer Winters volunteers range in age from 9 to 90. The yarn and needles are free. You can knit at home and knit what you like. If you want to warm your heart as you warm people in need, contact Warmer Winters.
Knit Nites are held the third Friday of the month at the Congregational Church of Christ in North Leominster from 6:30pm to 8:30. Come join the fun and learn more about Warmer Winters.

All ages, If you can knit a square, you can knit a scarf. All skill levels are welcome, whether you knit or crochet, we need you!
