UPS Helps Santa Deliver!
Thanks to the efforts of Lucy Lozada, a Leominster family had a very Merry Christmas this year.
Lucy wanted to help an at-need family enjoy the holidays as much as her own family does, and asked her employer, UPS, to support the idea. UPS immediately cut a check for Lucy to use in shopping. Lucy contacted the United Way of North Central Massachusetts to help her find just the right family.
The United Way's Connie Hundt put her in touch with a wonderful family – a single mother and her four children living in Leominster who needed some help this year.
From one family to another –
With the money provided from UPS, Lucy went shopping with her mother and her two sons for gifts from the Leominster family's wish list. After purchasing the gifts, Lucy beautifully wrapped them all.
On December 23, Lucy, with her boyfriend and her two sons, delivered the gifts to the family. Lucy explained to the children that because Santa's "nice" list was so long this year, he had asked UPS to help deliver the presents; but they must not be opened until Christmas!
The family agreed to Santa's terms and happily accepted their gifts from him courtesy of UPS Delivery!
Lucy always knew that she was making this family's Christmas extra special. She and her children learned that they were making their own family's Christmas extra special as well by reaching out to their extended family – our extended family – the people of North Central Massachusetts.
This is just one shining example of what the people around us are doing for the people around us.
Kudos to UPS, to Lucy and her family, and to everyone who worked to make this Holiday Season special for everyone!
